Prepare • Support • Hope
Trying to conceive can be one of the most emotionally demanding chapters of your life, and often one of the most invisible. The waiting. The tracking. The appointments. The quiet disappointment that can arrive each month, while you keep showing up at work and for everyone else.
You don’t have to hold it together here.
At Wild Heart Acupuncture, I offer acupuncture and Chinese medicine support for those preparing to conceive, trying naturally, or going through IUI or IVF. My care sits alongside your GP and fertility specialist, never in place of them.
Fertility & Pre Conception Care
Who I support
I see women who are:
Preparing their body and mind before trying to conceive
Trying to conceive naturally
Preparing for, or currently going through, IUI or IVF
Carrying the stress, grief or exhaustion of a long journey, a loss, or repeated cycles
Wherever you are, you’re welcome. Many women come to me not sure what they need yet. That’s a completely normal place to start.
How I can support you
Preconception care. In Chinese medicine, preparing to conceive starts with understanding your whole picture: your cycle, your energy, your sleep, your digestion, and your stress load. I’ll take a detailed history, and we’ll talk through practical changes to diet, rest and routine that fit the life you’re actually living.
Support alongside IUI and IVF. Many health practitioners recommend acupuncture as an adjunct alongside IVF treatment, and research into how it may assist is ongoing. I’ll plan sessions around your clinic’s timeline and your cycle dates, and I’m happy to work flexibly when transfer or retrieval dates move. Please talk with your fertility specialist about how acupuncture fits into your treatment.
Support for the emotional load. Trying to conceive is stressful, and that stress is real. Acupuncture may help you manage stress, tension and poor sleep. Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) gives us a way to work with the stress patterns and emotional responses that can build up through months or years of trying.
Education you can take home. You’ll leave each visit with a clear plan and simple tools to support yourself between sessions, so you feel informed and involved rather than dependent on treatment.
My fertility training
I’m trained in The Fertile Life Method, a structured approach to fertility care that brings together acupuncture, Chinese medicine, diet and lifestyle. As part of this training, I’m mentored by Kirsten Wolfe, founder of The Fertile Life Method and director of Mornington Chinese Medicine, who has more than 23 years of experience in Chinese medicine.
This training shapes how I plan your care: a clear structure, realistic timeframes and plenty of education along the way, always alongside your GP and fertility specialist.
How a visit unfolds
Your first appointment starts with a real conversation, not a form and a needle. We’ll cover your history, where you’re at in your journey, any treatment you’re receiving, and how you’re coping. Then I’ll build a treatment around you: acupuncture, and where it suits you, moxibustion, NET, or dietary and lifestyle guidance.
After your visit, I’ll email you a written treatment plan so you know what we’re doing and why.
Working alongside your fertility team
I work with you, and with your GP and fertility specialist, not instead of them. Acupuncture is a complement to your medical care. If you’d like me to coordinate around your clinic’s schedule, just bring your dates to your appointment.
Why I work this way
Before I was an acupuncturist, I spent 20 years in Human Resources. I’m also a mother who has lived through postpartum anxiety and burnout. I know what it’s like to keep everything running while quietly carrying something heavy. Fertility care should make room for the whole of you, not just your test results.
[Optional: add one or two sentences of your own fertility or motherhood story here, if you’re comfortable sharing it.]
Common questions
When should I start acupuncture before trying to conceive or starting IVF?
Many women like to start a few months before they begin trying or before a planned cycle, so we have time to understand their picture. You’re welcome to start at any point, including mid-cycle.
Can I have acupuncture while I’m having IVF?
Yes. I’ll work around your clinic’s timeline. Let your fertility specialist know you’re having acupuncture so your care stays coordinated.
Does my partner need to come?
Not at all. You’re welcome to bring a support person if that helps you feel comfortable.
Can I claim this on private health?
Acupuncture may be claimable on private health insurance, depending on your extras cover. HICAPS is available in clinic.
Wherever you are on the path to conceiving, you don’t have to walk it alone.
