Fertility & Pregnancy
Whether you're preparing your body to conceive, in the middle of trying, going through IUI or IVF, currently pregnant, or newly postpartum, this is a season that asks a lot of you — physically and emotionally, often more than anyone around you realises.
At Wild Heart Acupuncture, I offer acupuncture support across this whole journey, working alongside your GP, fertility specialist, or obstetric team, not in place of them. My approach blends Traditional Chinese Medicine with an evidence-informed perspective, so care is grounded in genuine clinical knowledge and shaped around where you actually are.
Who I Support
I see women at every stage of this journey, including those who are:
Preparing their body for conception (preconception care)
Trying to conceive naturally
Currently undergoing, or preparing for, IUI or IVF
Pregnant, at any stage of pregnancy
Recently postpartum, recovering physically and emotionally
Navigating the emotional weight of a difficult fertility journey, including loss or repeated cycles
In Chinese Medicine, preparing the body for conception is about supporting the underlying systems that influence cycle regularity, ovulation, and overall reproductive health. Primarily the Kidney, Liver, and Spleen systems, and the flow of Qi and Blood. Acupuncture is used to support this foundation, alongside whatever fertility care you're already receiving.
For many women, this stage carries as much emotional load as physical: the waiting, the uncertainty, the disappointment that can come with each cycle. Because the nervous system and hormonal system are so closely linked, part of this care is about supporting you through that emotional experience too, not just the physical process.
Preconception care to support overall reproductive wellbeing
Cycle and ovulation support
Complementary support alongside natural conception, IUI, or IVF
A space to process the stress, grief, and hope that can come with trying to conceive

How a Visit Unfolds
Expect a real conversation first: about where you're at in this journey, your history, and what's happening for you physically and emotionally, not just the stage you're currently in. Treatment is then built specifically for you. Acupuncture, and where appropriate, moxibustion or gentle Gua Sha, alongside practical guidance you can use between visits.
If you're working with a fertility clinic, GP, or obstetric team, I'm always happy to coordinate around your existing care and timeline.
Why I Work This Way
Fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum are rarely just physical experiences. The uncertainty, the waiting, the hope and disappointment, the identity shift of becoming a mother. These are part of the picture too. Treating the physical and emotional together, instead of in isolation, is how I try to support you through what is often one of the most significant chapters of your life.
If you'd like support that takes in the whole picture, book an appointment and we'll go from there.
Pregnancy moves through distinct stages, and what your body needs shifts along the way. Acupuncture can offer supportive, gentle care through each trimester. Helping settle the nervous system, ease common pregnancy discomforts, and support overall wellbeing as your body changes.
First trimester: settling nausea support, and easing early anxiety
Second trimester: ongoing comfort and energy support
Third trimester: preparing body and mind as you approach birth
All care is provided with appropriate precautions for pregnancy, and in coordination with your midwife or obstetric team.
Pregnancy Care
The fourth trimester rarely gets the attention it deserves. Physical recovery, hormonal rebalancing, sleep deprivation, and the emotional intensity of new motherhood all arrive at once. Often while you're also caring for a newborn around the clock.
Postpartum acupuncture supports physical recovery and hormonal rebalancing, while offering a space to be looked after, not just as someone's mother, but as yourself.
Physical recovery support after birth
Hormonal rebalancing in the postpartum period
Support for fatigue, low mood, and the emotional adjustment to new motherhood
A calm, unhurried space in a season that rarely offers one
