HORMONAL HEALTH  • CYCLES  •  PMS & PMDD

When your cycle is running the show

Periods that knock you flat. A week each month when you don’t feel like yourself. Cycles that come and go without warning. Headaches that arrive on schedule. You’re not trying to conceive, but your hormones still deserve care and attention.

IS THIS YOU?

You’ve been told it’s normal. It doesn’t feel normal.

PMS and PMDD

The days before your period bring mood changes, irritability, low mood or exhaustion that affect your work and relationships.

Irregular or painful periods

Your cycle is unpredictable, heavy, painful or long, and you’re tired of planning life around it.

Endometriosis or PMOS

You’re living with a diagnosis, or still waiting for answers, and want support alongside your medical care.

Hormonal headaches

Headaches or migraines that seem to follow your cycle, and other symptoms that come and go with it.

HOW I WORK WITH YOU

Getting to know your cycle

Your full history

We map your cycle, symptoms, sleep, stress, digestion and energy, so we can see the patterns together rather than one symptom at a time.

Care that follows your cycle

Appointments can be planned around different phases of your cycle, with a written plan and clear review points.

Tools for home

Practical cycle tracking and everyday tools that help you understand your body and feel more in control between appointments.

Painful or difficult periods are common, but not normal. They’re not something to ignore.

Severe period pain, very heavy bleeding, irregular cycles and premenstrual mood changes can have medical causes that need proper investigation. I’ll always encourage you to see your GP or gynaecologist.

ALONGSIDE YOUR SPECIALIST

Working with your GP and gynaecologist

With your consent, I’m happy to keep your GP or specialist informed. Bring any test results or scan reports you’re comfortable sharing.

If premenstrual mood changes are affecting your safety or wellbeing, please speak to your GP. In crisis, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.

See your GP promptly if you have:

  • Bleeding that soaks a pad or tampon every hour or two

  • Bleeding between periods or after sex

  • Period pain that stops you working or sleeping

  • A sudden, severe headache, or migraine with new symptoms

  • Thoughts of self-harm, at any point in your cycle

COMMON QUESTIONS

What women often ask me

Do I need a diagnosis before I come in?

No. Many women come in because something about their cycle doesn’t feel right and they want to understand it. I’ll take a full history, and may suggest you also see your GP for tests or assessment.

Can I have acupuncture if I’m on the pill or an IUD?

Yes. Acupuncture can be used alongside hormonal contraception and other medications. Please tell me what you’re taking, and don’t stop any medication without talking to your doctor.

I have endometriosis. Can you still see me?

Yes. I see women with endometriosis alongside their GP and gynaecologist.

Can I claim a rebate?

You can claim on the spot with HICAPS at the clinic, if your private health insurance includes acupuncture in your extras cover. I recommend checking with your insurer before your first visit.
