FERTILITY  •  FOR MEN AND PARTNERS

Fertility is a shared journey. Your health matters too.

When a couple is trying to conceive, most of the attention lands on her. But fertility is about two people. Sperm makes up half of the picture, and its quality plays a real role in how an embryo develops. Men also carry their own stress, worry and pressure, often quietly. Whether you’re preparing to try, waiting on results, or supporting your partner through IVF, there’s support here for you too.

IS THIS YOU?

You want to do your part, and you’re not sure where to start.

Male factors are part of many fertility journeys, so I’ll always encourage you to have a semen analysis and see your GP, a urologist, or a fertility specialist for proper investigation.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions men often ask me

Do you see men at Wild Heart?

Yes. While most of my patients are women, I welcome men who are trying to conceive with their partner. The clinic is private, calm and judgement-free.

Should I have a semen analysis first?

It isn’t required, but it’s one of the most useful first steps, and I’ll usually encourage it if you haven’t had one. Your GP can arrange it. Bring the results if you have them.

Can my partner and I come in together?

Yes. You can book back-to-back appointments, so you’re both on the same timeline and plan.

How often would I come in?

It depends on where you are and what you’re hoping for. After your first visit you’ll get a written plan with a suggested frequency and a point where we review it together. Typically, a minimum of weekly for 12 to 16 weeks is ideal as sperm  Sperm take roughly three months to fully develop. So the choices you make today, from sleep and stress to diet, alcohol and heat exposure, can shape the sperm you produce about 12 weeks from now. . That’s why I usually recommend working together over a 12-week block, with weekly appointments. I also encourage men to start looking after their health well before they hope to conceive, or before an IVF cycle.

Do you support LGBTQIA+ families?

Absolutely. Every family is welcome here, including same-sex couples, solo parents by choice, and trans and gender-diverse people. Whatever your path to parenthood looks like, you’ll be met with respect, care and no assumptions. If there’s anything that would help you feel more comfortable, such as your pronouns or how you’d like me to refer to your partner, just let me know.

Can I claim a rebate?

You can claim on the spot with HICAPS at the clinic, if your private health insurance includes acupuncture in your extras cover. I recommend checking with your insurer before your first visit.
